tenth percentile ..

Yesterday I took the boys to the doctor and Got there flu shots . Colton was able to get the mist but Waylon had to get the shot because of his previous upper respiratory virus and they are watching him for asthma.

. They told me at the office they have seen a lot of upper respiratory viruses and strep throat. ugh
I told the kids don't touch anything and we all washed our hands as soon as we left ..

That being said it was an awesome visit and here is why.
Waylon is small for his age. He has been considered small since he was about eleven months old.
He went from being around the 20 percentile and dropped down. He never lost weight he just dropped down on the charts they use. At his fifteen month check-up he was in the 3% percentile for weight ..
I left the office crying and upset . My doctor was so nice about it and told me not to worry but as a mom you know  I worried ...

She said lets check him in three months and re-weigh him along with the flu shot.. .. It has been four months . We have been trying to get Waylon to try new things and making him nightly smoothies at bedtime. He drinks one Pediasure every day at school and a cliff bar for snack at school instead of the crackers and juice the other  kids eat . So we've been trying to get some weight on him..
The first thing the nurse said was look at the his arms (he had on a tank top) . She said there bigger and his face is fuller.. Yay !! We weighed him and he almost gained two pounds . We were so close to two pounds. He is now 23 pounds. This bumped him up to the tenth percentile on the charts . The doctor came in and said this is excellent. Keep up the good work. He also grew two inches..

EVERY MORNING THEY SIT IN THE DRIVEWAY AND SAY CHEESE :)

 I think He will continue to go up on the charts.  He is now gaining weight and I want to keep those viruses away . So I talked to Colton about washing his  hands and when we are at stores try not to touch everything. He likes to touch everything in stores..    I know there both in school and it's impossible to keep all the germs away but dang it we are going to try... LOL!!
