We went for a five mile hike Sunday afternoon..It was humid and hot .. It was not a good day for hiking..

But I still enjoyed it...They had a prescribed burn this year and it left the Forest looking awful.
I wondered if the fire got away from them in some areas. I don't know much about prescribed burns but the rocks trail was sad..Parts of it were nice but most of it looked like we were walking through a barren forest..
This state park is only thirty minutes from us so we visit this one the most. We hiked the trail and it led us to a bunch of rocks on the lake . That part was pretty. We sat and looked out over the lake for a little while before hiking back.. Colton enjoyed sitting on the rocks ...He has become an excellent hiker and he is very athletic. It doesn't bother him to go for miles ...

We found a snail shell some pretty rocks(quartz) and A SNAKE.. It never fails when we hike we see a snake ..

It was just a black snake in the middle of the trail another man was messing with it when we walked up...
