Boones cave state park .and a rattlesnake

another state park..

Hiking again...This time we went to Boone's cave state park.. It was fun. Not as many trails but there is a cave that was neat. ...

in the cave..colton loved this and the cave was about ten degrees cooler..

We hiked along the yadkin river. ..

We ate a picnic lunch .. We had sandwiches ,watermelon , cookies, 

And Doritos .. Yummy !! Packed in my thirty-one cooler  .. Love that bag. ..

We encountered some snakes on our adventure that made it more exciting 

black snake on the trail .. he got out of the way when we came up to it..
he was not aggressive but he was big...boogie was ahead of us and saw it and stopped and said SNAKE..
GOOD JOB...

A rattlesnake

I'm not kidding !!!

It was huge and I got nervous ..

My husband threw a rock so we could hear it rattle ... 

 .. they are in North Carolina y'all..

This is our picture of the rattlesnake but it's hard to see. !!!

We were on our way to see a cabin and I thought it was a huge tree limb that had fallen but I  started slowing down because the tree limb was shiny .. My husband yelled hold up.. I said dang it I was about to say that.. 

He always catches things before me... We stood back while he got closer and made it move off the trail then he got it to rattle.. It was neat but a little too close for me...

we still went to see the cabin but kept checking to make sure he didn't come back out...

Now Colton loves this place because he got right on the river, he got to see two snakes and it's so close to us and there is a cave...
I discovered it last week because I am always looking for things for us to do..

When we went down to see the river I kept telling him not to run on this big rock that was very slippery ..he did not listen and fell getting covered in river mud. Being a mommy of boys I had clothes for both of them in the car. So we finished our hike after I wiped him down and then he changed in the car.. He is all boy !!!
I kept calling him river mud .. He said that's not my name mommy!! haha!!
